Tracking Equipment & Tools
Straps, pump trucks, load bars, clips, tailgates, flat decks, reefers… the list of equipment that may be needed to move a shipment is long. Not knowing where these assets are at all times can make it hard to respond to the requests of your customers, not to mention the secret killer that is under-utilization.
That’s why we’ve added the ability to create custom equipment types, allowing you to track your tools and assets. We’ve also improved visibility so you can see where these assets are, what they are doing, and where they were last.
We’re excited to add some major enhancements to help you track your most expensive physical assets: your equipment.
Create Equipment Types
Before you start creating individual equipment IDs in Rose Rocket, you can create new equipment types to add a layer of organization. To do this, navigate to the Settings module. There is a section called ‘Equipment Types’ and ‘Subtypes’. In the Types section, you can create a new category of equipment. For example, “pump trucks”. In the subtypes section, you can define a specific subtype of that equipment category, for example, “electric pump truck” and “manual pump truck”.
Add Equipment
After you’ve created the types and subtypes for the equipment you want to track, navigate to the equipment module and click on “New Equipment”. Provide the details for the specific piece you want to track.
Inside the Equipment module, you can do things like seeing what manifest and driver a piece of equipment is currently assigned to, find the last known location of the equipment and visualize it on a map, upload important documentation against the units, as well as clone, make inactive, and delete unnecessary pieces.
